Reed Under 11’s maintained their seasons unbeaten record and wide margin winning form when beating Linton by 106 runs.

Batting first home team Linton were soon in trouble on a difficult wicket with little bounce which hardly helped young cricketers learn the game. Wickets fell regularly as Kallum Ward 4 – 6, Matthew Naeem 4 – 11 and William Heslam 3 – 15 made the most of their opportunities. Michael Fox 2 – 11 and Matthew Morton 1 -11 also got amongst the wickets as Linton struggled to a nett score of 209 having lost 14 wickets. It was only the large number of Reed wides and no balls that kept Lintons total in positive territory above the 200 they started the innings with.

Reeds reply followed a similar path to previous weeks. A steady performance from the opening pairs of which Michael Fox with 10* proved the pick followed by a blitz from their last two pairings.True to form despite receiving a high degree of very wayward deliveries George Garrott 12* and William Heslam 6* boosted the Reed score from 249 – 3 after 9 overs to 283 – 3 three overs later and the final pairing of Kallum Ward 22* and Ben Jackson 4 took the Reed total to a net 315 – 4 and victory by 106 runs.
