Reed’s Under 11’s cricketers maintained their 100% record for the season on Thursday evening with a rampant 114 run victory over Linton in Cambridgeshire’s Colts Cricket League.

Bowling first Reed’s openers Kallum Ward and William Heslam made immediate inroads by each bowling a Linton opener in their first over. This set the tone for the evening as Linton struggled for runs against the Reed bowling and improving ground fielding. Reed used all 9 outfield players as bowlers and skipper Ben Jackson again starred with the ball taking 2 for 2 in his 3 overs whilst Michael Fox 1 – 4 and Callum Adamson 1 – 12 also got amongst the wickets. Linton eventually struggled to a nett 226 for the loss of 6 wickets mainly thanks to the contribution of Reed wides which remains an opportunity area for improvement.

Reed’s batting again performed well. In the early stages Ollie Townsend 6 and Matthew Naeem 9 performed well and at the 9 over mark Reed were well placed at 263 for 3. From that point on their strong last two pairings again produced the goods William Heslam 13 and George Garrott 6 putting on 36 in their 3 overs and finally Ben Jackson 21 and Kallum Ward 12 putting together 41 to take the nett Reed total to 340 for 3 and a comprehensive victory by 114 runs.
