Reed went into this match somewhat short of bowling due to holiday absences, bu their available resources proved sufficient as they bowled out Wheathampstead for only 107.

Andrew Emms bowled a 19 over spell unchanged being rewarded with 4-41 whilst Jim Allsop 13 overs, 2-34 did the early damage. Jason Archer 4-22 relieved Allsopp and wrapped up the tail. The excellent catches notably from keeper Dunn, Chris Shorrock and Skipper John Heslam, taking 2 sharp chances at first slip.

Reed should have coasted to a quick win and at 72-2 it looked as if they would as Paul Watts 23 and Chris Shorrock 30 provided a solid foundation. However the Reed middle order has been fragile on occasions this season and so it proved again as Reed collapsed to 103-8 when Jason Archer cut a 4 to the boundary to ensure the win. Reed were relieved not to have thrown the game away.
