Reed Sunday XI entertained Hatley & Arrington at The Green on Sunday, Reed lost the toss and were asked to bat which proved a costly decision as opener Tom Fulk (100 no) and number three Stuart Smith (81) put on 125 for the second wicket in just 19 overs.

When Smith fell to a smart catch in the deep free scoring veteran Ed Blissett continued in the same vein, but also played for his partner Fulk to see him safely through to his century. Fulk has again proved the back bone of the Reed side, as he rapidly approaches 500 Sunday runs at an average of over 70. The Reed innings closing on 230-4 after their allotted 40 overs.

Hatley were always on the back foot numerous edges past the slips and the odd dropped chance saw them reach 79 before the first wicket fell, Fulk taking a fine catch after some astute field placing from skipper Archer, three more wickets fell in the next seven balls as the Hatley response disintegrated. Apart from the openers and a big hitting 33 from Steve Hooley no other batsman scored more than 10 as the future Peter Tidey, Neal Haslam and Reed legend Clive Collins picked up 7 wickets between them to reduce Hatley to 152 all out. Reed won by 78 runs
