Having completed a century for the county Under15s the day previously, Sawston’s Adam Dellar was in dominating form as he drove and pulled fiercely to a superb 69. But even after he was out, there were plenty of opportunities for Fowell (45no) and Ball (28) to demonstrate their skills. R&C’s young bowling attack was mashed to the tune of 165 for 4 after 20 overs and their wicket / runs ratios were not good reading. Sawston were player-for-player older, bigger, stronger and more athletic as R&C succumbed to 58 all-out. Hardly surprising as 4 of their team were U13 and 1 was U11. This season’s captain, the promising left-hander Max Carlton, scored 24 with Ed Garrott (10) being his only other teammate to reach double figures.
