Watson’s National Village Cup Final – Updated News: 21/9/17. WE WON!!!

Another fantastic day at Lord's Cricket Ground saw Tom Greaves lead Reed CC onto the Pavilion terrace to be presented with the Watson's National Village Cup. Well done to everyone connected to the team - thank you for producing a second memorable victory for us to savour. Thank you to the hundreds of supporters who travelled to London and vocalised their joy, to those who stayed in touch by social media providing encouragement to the players, and those who followed the fluctuations of the match by radio commentary. Thank you too to our numerous advertisers and sponsors who have contributed to Reed CC's progress and development over the years. Reed CC thanks Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) for hosting the event at the famous Lord's Cricket Ground; the NVC organisers, The Cricketer magazine, (www.thecricketer.com); the competition's sponsors, Watson's Dairy Products, Gunn & Moore, BOLA Bowling machines, Extra Cover Insurance, Owzat Cricket Products, Greene King, International Cricket Tours and Pipers Crisp Company. Pick-up from Meldreth Railway Station at 8:15 a.m. then Royston Bus Station at 8:30 a.m. 2. Pick-up from Reed Village Hall at 8:15 a.m. then the BP fuel station / Woolpack Vets at the roundabout on the A507 / Buntingford by-pass at 8:30 a.m. and in Baldock Market Place at 8:50 a.m. After the match, the coaches will depart at 6:00 p.m. from the North Gate of Lord’s Cricket Ground. President’s Day, Sunday 13th August

A MESSAGE FROM ANDREW EMMS, PRESIDENT, REED CRICKET CLUB. President’s Day will take place on Sunday 13th August 2017 at Reed Village Green, commencing at 1100hrs. It will be a DOUBLE WICKET competition featuring pairs of cricketers. To enter, preferably notify Tom Greaves on 07787 243915 beforehand. The Village Green, thanks to our Groundsman Richard Robertson, will look a picture and we hope for a sunny day! The Club bar will be open all day. There is also a children’s playground on the opposite side of the Green. I will be hosting a Charity Luncheon again, this year in aid of Parkinson’s Disease Research. Parkinson’s UK is the leading national charity supporting this research, and a representative from the Charity will be joining us on the day to speak on the latest progress in the fight against this pernicious condition. The Charity Luncheon prepared by Capers Catering will be served from 1330hrs in the Pavilion. Tickets are £25 per person, the price of which includes a donation to Parkinson’s UK. RCC Curry Evening, Saturday 10th June

Reed Cricket Club’s Curry Evening courtesy of Marion and Paul Watts will be on Saturday 10th June.
