2014 Colts’ Awards Presentation Evening

The 2014 Colts' Awards Presentation evening will be held in the Pavilion on Thursday 27th March at 7.30 p.m, with awards, reports and presentations to last season’s outstanding players. All existing Colts are welcome, as well as new ones. If you have any friends, boys or girls, who might be interested, bring them along to the evening. Enrolment will be held on the same night. If you were awarded a trophy last year, please return it to Cilla Robertson by Monday 24th February for engraving. Club sweaters, caps and cricket equipment, including Abdo guards and helmets will be on display to order or purchase. If you are selected to play in a match, you are expected to wear full whites and a Reed Cricket Club cap. In addition, you will need your own Abdo guard, clearly named as with any other personal equipment. All players, who do not have their own helmet, are measured at the start of the season, so that you and your manager ensure that you wear the correct helmet when batting or wicket keeping.

2014 Annual Awards Dinner

Dear Friend of Reed CC The 2014 Annual Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday 5th April at the Jester, Odsey at 7pm (meal at 7.30pm prompt). Tickets are £22 for a three course meal and the menu choices are as follows:- STARTER MAIN COURSE DESSERT Homemade Leek & Potato Soup (v) Topside of Beef Finished with Wild Mushroom & Roasted Garlic Sauce White Chocolate Cheesecake Duck & Port Pate with Toast Breast of Chicken with Stuffed with Bacon and Brie Served with a White Wine Sauce Fresh Fruit Salad Roasted Butternut Squash & Chargrilled Pepper Lasagne (v)   The meal will be followed by the awards presentation (with strict time limits on the length of speeches) and raffle. New Players Welcome for 2014 Season

Reed Cricket Club are always keen to attract new players and particularly for the 2014 season with the 1XI playing in the newly formed Hertfordshire Championship (Premier League 2). You can read more about the new Hertfordshire league structures on their website. Reed CC is located just north of Royston which is 15 mins from Cambridge and 45 mins from London. We have excellent facilities, with a very good wicket, nets (inc. wheelie net), large pavilion including an excellent bar. Reed is a friendly club with a good social scene. We have 4XI’s on a Saturday, 2XIs on a Sunday, Midweek 20/20 cricket and a thriving youth cricket section. In 2012 our 1XI played at "the home of cricket" Lords in 2012 as we won the National Village Cup competition starting with 282 teams. Below is the Sky Sports News report. Adult Nets Start 8th January

Adults nets will start on the 8th January at Freman College. The first session will be 1st XI training with club nets the following week (15th). Each session will be every other week until the 16th April. They start at 8pm and costs £4. Check out the club calendar if you lose track of which week is which. Colts Winter Nets

Colts winter training will take place on Friday evenings & Saturday mornings. Participants need to opt for a slot. They should not attend both. Please contact Cilla with which slot you are opting to attend by DECEMBER 22 and I shall notify the lead coach Tom Greaves. The cost of the training is £4.00 per session, please bring correct money so that the person collecting payments is not having to bring float. This year the sessions will be help at the brand new Freman College Sports Centre. Sessions start at 6pm on Friday nights and 10am Saturday mornings. Both sessions last an hour. All your favourite coaches will be there. Lords 50 maker, Tom Greaves will lead the coaches with the help of Marcus Baker and Mitchell Cooper.
