Reed cruised past Long Marston in their 1st round of the npower Village Cup. After winning the toss and choosing to bat Long Marston got off to a poor start thanks to tight bowling from Rupert Martin and Saturdays man of the match Pete Tidey. A run out and 3 quick Tidey (3 for 20) wickets left the home side struggling at 29 for 4. The introduction for their first spell of bowling for the season for Chris Jackson (3 for 23) and Ray Kingshott (2 for 24) saw Reed bowl Long Marston out for 91 in 31 overs.

In reply Baz Curtis attacked from the start hitting the 1st ball for 4 and Tom Fulk abily supporting him. Curtis raced to 56 before Fulk (24) hit the winning runs and giving Reed an emphatic 10 wicket victory in only 11.2 overs.
