On Sunday Reed entertained BBC Radio news in a high scoring friendly match. BBC won the toss and decided wisely to bat on a typical batting friendly Reed wicket. But the decision backfired as Reeds opener Michael Robertson took 2 early wickets with swing and pace. This brought Steele to the wicket to join Tariq and together they set upon the Reed bowlers capitalising on any loose deliveries. The pair put on 98 for the 3rd wicket before a mix up between the two saw Steele run out for a punishing 44.

Marcus Martin who was deputising for BBC due to player shortages joined Tariq who was now in full flow, Martin played the anchor roll whilst Tariq hit some big shots before he fell for a masterful 105 to the bowling of Naeem (2-14). Martin (39) then took on the run scoring responsibilities before becoming Robertson 3rd wicket to finish up with 3 for 45. BBC News declared there innings on a substantial 239 – 6 of 38 overs.

Reed’s start got of to a similar start to that of BBC News losing 3 early wickets to leave them struggling at 63 for 3 with all 3 wickets falling to Tariq. Naeem then joined Tom Fulk at the wicket to add 41 quick fire runs before Naeem was well caught by William Heslam for 23. This wicket was to be the last wicket the BBC would pick up because Richard Barlow (36 not out) joined Tom Fulk at the crease and together they put on 138 in 14.4 overs.

Fulk in particular punished all the BBC bowlers especially Marcus Martin who conceded 44 in his 4 overs. Fulk ended up with a sensational 134 not out and gave Reed victory with 4 overs remaining and by 6 wickets.
