Reed II approached this ‘must win’ match far from confident since Gravely were positioned in 4th place as opposed to Reed just above the relegation zone. Additionally Reed were missing several key regulars from their line up.

However the Reed opening attack of Graham Wilson 11-1-18 and Richard Johnson 12-3-49 ensured Gravely struggled from the start and Richard Robertson 4-27 and Jason Archer 2-20 carried on the good work enabling Reed to dismiss the home side for a paltry 131.

In light of recent poor performances Reed could not be complacent but a welcome return to form for Ian Fulk (62) ensured that there would be no mishaps on this occasion. An opening stand of 77 between Fulk and Peter Baker (20) created the foundation and Richard Johnson folowed up his good work with the ball with a solid 24 not out.

Reed reached the 132 required for the loss of only 3 wickets to record an easy and welcome win with 29 overs to spare.
