Reed lost their final Herts League game of the season to a strong Welwyn Garden City team. After winning the toss WGC batted 1st and got off to a solid start before tight bowling from the ever improving Richard Johnson (1-49) and the old warhorse Pete Tidey (2-68). Johnson took the 1st wicket of ex-Chelsea play Phil Driver with the score on 78.

A great catch from Chris Jackson off Andy Emms however bought to the wicket the very hard hitting Tyler who smashed the normally tight Richard Jerome and Tidey for some massive sixes. Tyler was backed up by his team mates as WGC raced to 240-5. In reply James Heslam (46) and Tom Fulk (20) got Reed off to an excellant start however losing both in the same over saw Reed at 73-2 off 14.

With Reed losing a couple more quick wickets it was left to brothers Chris and Simon Jackson to try to lead Reed to victory, however once both were out for 21 it left Reed with a mountain to climb. Some hard hitting and great defensive play from tour captain Marcus Martin was not enough as Reed were all out for 181 in their chase.
