Reed got off to a poor start after some excellent bowling from Northchurch saw them reeling at 25 for 5 after 16 overs. Only a hard hitting 53 from Richard Jerome and some able support from the late order saw Reed to a disappointing 96 all out.

Northchurch then got off to a solid start despite good bowling from debutant Pete Flack. However with the score at 52 Reed got their 1st break through when Ray Kingshott got the 1st wicket. Further wickets from Jerome and Ian Roberts could not stop Northchurch winning as they went past Reeds total in the 30th over.
