After losing the toss against Hornchurch Athletic (not a football club), Reed got off to a tight start with good bowling from young Jim Allsopp and all rounder Pete Tidey.

However after Tidey bowled Johnson it bought to the wicket the hard hitting Bridge, who raced to 50 with some of the hardest 6s seen at Reed before being expertly caught and bowled by Richard Robertson. Further tight bowling from Karlos Ward and Marcuus Martin as well as excellant captaincy from Tom Fulk restricted Hornchurch to 191-7.

Despite a solid 42 in 28 overs from captain Fulk, Reed were always behind the run rate thanks to Hornchuchs excellant spin bowling attack. And when inform Pete Tidey fell 1st ball the game was all over for a young Reed side. However 12 year old Callum Kitcher, batting at 5, batted like a senior pro and ended up 3rd top scorer with 12 as Reed were all out for 141.
