Tidey Rips Through Flitwick

On saturday Reed travelled to Flitwick hoping to make it 5 league wins on the bounce. Reeds afternoon started poorly when captain James Heslam lost the toss and reed were asked to bat first. Openers Will Heslam and Sam Fairbrother started well reaching 24 before Heslam (6) was caught at square leg. 24-1 became 24-2 the very next ball as Flitwicks overseas Ricky Joseph surprised Kallum Ward with a quick bouncer which he could only glove through to the keeper. Fairbrother was now joined by captain James Heslam they quickly set about rebuilding the reed innings before Fairbrother (28) became Josephs third victim. Heslam (27) followed shortly after leaving Reed at 83-4. Stuart Smith (5) was the next man out caught by Twist off the bowling of Joseph and reed looked in real danger at 105-5. Tom Greaves and Ed Garrott knew they had to form a partnership and together with good running and the occasional boundary they reached 140 before Greaves was dismssed by Ellis for and impressive 44. Garrott followed shortly after and Reed were now 141-7. Sean and Jack Tidey added 11 before jack (10) was bowled by Twist (11-1-48-3). Reed looked in trouble yet again but a partnership of 36 for the 9th wicket between Sean Tidey (22) and Mitchell Cooper (15) frustrated Flitwick. Cooper departed in the last over before Tidey was run out off the last ball of the innings leaving reed 190 all out in their 44 overs. In reply, reed started well with Jack Tidey and Toby Fynn taking the new ball.
