Father Christmas at Reed Cricket Club on Sunday 18th December

A message sent by Andrew Emms on behalf of Santa Claus. Dear Reed CC Members & Friends, Father Christmas has again found the time in his busy schedule to pay a visit to Reed Cricket Club. This year he will be arriving at 1200hrs on Sunday 18th December. All Club members and families will be welcome for what has become a fun social event in the calendar. Father Christmas will be planning to arrive once he is sure that all the children are there. Would Mums and Dads let me know the names and ages of their children, if attending so that FC can select an appropriate pressie which he will be pleased to give them! Also, as you all know, Santa has a very generous circumference, and to keep it that way he asks that as many nibbles, nuts, sausage rolls, mince pies etc., are brought along by us all. We dare not refuse!! Don’t forget, SUNDAY 18TH DECEMBER 12 NOON!!!!!!!!! HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Andrew Emms, President, Reed Cricket Club.

President’s Day, Sunday 31st July

PRESIDENT'S DAY - SUNDAY 31ST JULY 2016. A message from Club President Andrew Emms. This year President’s Day will have a different feel to it, in that we are not combining a charity lunch with the cricket; I felt that we have raised the monies required to fund the Heart Screening on September 17th, (see Reed CC website for further information), and I also felt that your generosity in supporting this and previous initiatives should not be taken for granted! So, on President’s Day we will be staging a Double Wicket Competition, which will commence at 11am approx. This consists of pairs of players, competing extremely energetically, in a knockout competition to produce a grand final between the 2 most successful pairs from which the Champions will emerge. A Barbecue will run through the day, and tea will be provided for the players. Matt Bowles, Tom Greaves and Sean Tidey are organising the playing side of things, so any queries contact them for further details. Hopefully the weather will be kind and an enjoyable day will be had by all. ALL PAST AND PRESENT MEMBERS ARE WELCOME, TOGETHER WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, AS WELL AS SUPPORTERS, AND RESIDENTS OF REED. I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday, any volunteers to help cook on the Barbecue will be extremely welcome!! Regards, Andrew Emms, President, Reed CC.

It’s time for Curry!

Taste buds are beginning to stir in anticipation of the annual Curry Evening prepared and presented by Marion and Paul Watts in the Clubhouse. Celebrate our winning ways next Saturday, 21st May, starting about 2000hrs, (giving time for Wattsie to change out of his umpire's coat and drain the rice)!

Wednesday evenings at the Clubhouse

A reminder for those not attending indoor Nets on a regular basis that the RCC Clubhouse is open for business every Wednesday evening from 1930hrs onwards. Come and have a chat, put the world to rights, watch soccer on the TV, throw a dart or two (or three!), play pool or simply enjoy the comfortable, newly-redecorated surroundings in the lounge bar. Bottled beers, lagers and ciders are on sale at “winter prices” (meaning cheaper than normal); plus soft drinks and nibbles, such as crisps and peanuts, some, (I am reliably informed), at even further reduced prices. How do we manage to stay solvent? Save on your own energy and heating bills by popping up to Reed. Every Wednesday evening through to April - when the cricket should begin outdoors (and beer prices go up). See you, PGB, Hon Sec, Reed CC P.S. All the Fixtures, apart from the odd Conference game, are now in the website calendar. Click on “View All Events” on the right of this page then choose the months you want to look at. Friendlies start on 9th April and the Herts League on Saturday the 7th May. The season ends in September.
