After some early, cheap wickets Reeds Sunday seconds were bolstered by a partnership between John Kershaw and Keiren Willoughby in their friendly match against St Margaretsbury at the Green. The steady work by the two halted the flow of wickets and got the score ticking over. Kershaw was eventually out caught behind for 52 and Willoughby was also out soon after for 14. A brief cameo by Marcus J.E. Baker (14) added some runs but did not last for long. Captain Peter Baker (27*) then worked with the rest of the tail to take Reed to 146 for 9.

Evidently St Margaretsbury has a strong youth set up as the young team quickly made runs. S. Spencer (54) and N. Sheffield (11) led the way and the winning runs were hit in only the 27th over. Reed picked up five wickets shared between K. Willoughby (5-0-37-3), Alex West (3-0-25-1) and George Garrott (3-0-16-1).
