Bayford & Hertford decided to put Reed into bat in there
friendly Sunday fixture. Reed lost an early wicket on 16, but this
only brought together Simon Roberts and Mark Peart who were both in
form from last week. They put on 79 for the 2nd wicket and put Reed
on top. They both kept good concentration as the teams have to come
off due to rain. Roberts holed out at long off for 42 hitting 1 6 and
4 4s his total. Peart using his hand crafted Dolphin bat hit 54
before he was dismissed. It was his second consecutive Sunday fifty.
Reed then found themselves 134-4 before Simon Jackson and new under
25 star Stuart Smith put on 51 for the 5th wicket. They started
slowly, but Smith soon came out of his shell and put bat to ball
hitting his first runs for the first team. He was out for a splendid
22. Jackson continued to stroke the ball around, including 3 huge 6.
He was left 58 not out when Reed declared. They set Bayford &
Hertford 204 to win.

Bayford & Hertford got off to a flying start. They were 55 for
no wicket after just 12 overs with Bracewell 18 not out and Knowles
on 35 with the rains came and it the match had to be called off.
