Reedies running the Marathon

Two Reed cricketers have entered the London Marathon which this year will take place on 28th April. Please take the time to read about their chosen causes and give generously. To do so, you will have to copy & paste their respective charity links into your browser. Thank you, PGB, Hon. Sec, Reed CC. ================================================================================= Tom Greaves’s story. Hi All, As many of you will know, I’m not much of an athlete, however, in a moment of madness I applied for the London marathon and much to my surprise I got in!! This will be a hell of a challenge for me, as previously the most I’ve run in any one single effort is about a mile. So to make my efforts worthwhile I’ve decided to run for the Matt Hampson Foundation charity. As an emerging talent in the world of rugby, Matt Hampson’s world was rocked by a serious spinal injury sustained while training with England U21s.The shock would last months, the impact forever. Paralysed from the neck down Matt faced the toughest challenge of his life. Drawing on the passion, grit and steely determination that defined him as a player, Matt saw his accident not as an end, but as a new beginning. Through the Matt Hampson Foundation, Matt offers hope and inspiration to young people with similar injuries, sharing his experiences and devoting his life to raising vital funds for those in need of support. Please join me in supporting the Foundation by giving anything you can. Thank you, Tom. https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=TomGreaves4&pageUrl=1 ================================================================================= Matt Giblin’s story. Well done Stuart Smith for running the London Marathon in 3 hours 49 minutes

Stuart's official time: 3 hours 49 minutes. My name is Stuart Smith and I have been a member of the club since I was 8 years old. On 24th April this year I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer UK a charity which researches into a disease that my uncle died of on Christmas Day 2014 and that my dad Graham, another club member, had radical surgery for in October last year. You can help me raise money for this great cause by donating directly to my fundraising page. Just Giving sends your donation straight to PROSTATE CANCER UK and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. Thank you for your support! Stuart
