Due to depleted numbers Reed allowed Thriplow to bat first. Connor Poulton and Jack Caine opened the bowling and the 2nd & 3rd over saw the Thriplow openers bowled by consecutive balls. Debut of Josh Coldicott-Stevens in the 6th over saw his first wicket for the club caught by Connor coming in from the deep. Tight bowling by all 9 bowlers along with exceptional fielding gave Reed regular wickets and meant the opposition never got going. With Thriplow still a man short Owen Hughes despatched the last wicket with his second ball in the 16th over leaving Reed a run chase of 64 to win. Best of the bowling Reece Fitzgerald 4-0-5-2.Reed were by no means complacent in their reply. The Thriplow bowlers were not going to make it easy and Reed openers Reece Fitzgerald and Connor Poulton bided their time. Going at 2 runs per over for the first few overs they played sensibly picking off the bad balls when they came. Reed lost the wickets of Reece and Owen Hughes to LBW decisions leaving Connor and debutant Josh to finish up the innings. Both ended up on 17 not out Josh finished the innings with his second boundary taking Reed to 67, Connor Poulton carried his bat.

Sawston won the toss and chose to bat. Obviously an experience batting side they moved the ball around the field picking up singles with the odd boundary. Although Reed could not get wickets, Sawston were not exactly piling on the runs. At the halfway point they were on target for around 110 which Reed would have been happy with. The second half of the innings was much the same. Reed’s wickets came too late 5 in the last 4 overs but then Sawston done the damage at the end with a good final over leaving Reed a run chase of 127. (Not the 110 they were hoping for). Sawston opener Z Ives made it to the 18th over for 34 runs other contributions came from L Goss 11 and R Mison 21 off around 6 balls! Zac Conley was the pick of the bowling 1-0-3-2.In reply Reed were always just behind the run rate. After loosing 2 early wickets Connor Poulton and Josh Coldicott Stevens built a good partnership till the 11th over when Connor lost his wicket to a catch by Mison on 19. Josh went on to top score with 24, but Mison struck again taking his bails in 18th over. Reed were never in with a shout and ended innings on 85 for 7, 41 runs short of victory. Best of the Sawston bowling attack was W Rolph, 3-0-11-4.

Reed won the toss and put Royston into bat. Royston got off to a flying start and were running at a healthy 7 per over before they lost the opening bat of Lorcan George in the 5 over. This was no setback however; Robert Hall (recently returned from Letchworth) took up the baton and ran with it. Harking back to Mildenhall 2 and 3 batsman were a force to be reckoned with Connor Little and Robert Hall took the total to 57 when Freddie Stuart snaffled a catch off of Owen Hughes bowling leaving Connor Little on 26. Hall then took advantage of the under par fielding of Reed piling on the runs while Oscar Ayliffe (11) kept up the other end, an impressive partnership of 78. Although Reed managed 3 more wickets at the end from Freddie Stuart, Sam Rice and Jack Childs, Hall was still safe 75 not out with 15 4’s, and had taken the Royston side to 161 for 5 for their 20 overs.In reply Reed started slowly and lost the early wicket of Freddie Stuart in the 2nd over, a catch to Goldman off of Max Ayliffe’s bowling. A good partnership of 34 between Owen Hughes and Reece Fitzgerald put Reed in better position then full toss from Owen Readers first over hit by Reece somehow managed to hit the stumps. From then on Reed were always going to be playing catch up. Royston Won the toss and put Reed in to bat. Reed scored steadily for the first half of the innings, despite losing the early wicket of Tim Banks in the 3rd over, Reece Fitzgerald and Connor Poulton both scored frequent boundaries taking Reece to 32 when he had to retire and Connor to 28 when he was bowled by Lorcan George. Had the batting side managed to keep up the run rate for the second half we could have been in with a score of around 120. As it was Reed finished on 107 for 6 with only 20 runs off the last 7 overs. Best of the 9 bowlers used by Royston was R Ponting 4-1-2-8.When Royston went into bat it was early wickets that Reed needed to gain the advantage. The opening bowlers were not finding these but when Owen Hughes came on and took two wickets with his first two balls this rallied the home side. Loran George was caught by Jack Caine for 11 and Max Ayliffe fell for 0. The change of bowlers definitely slowed Royston’s scoring rate but it then picked up and for the second half of the innings they scored steadily. The wicket of Evan Goldman (25) second catch for Jack off of Connors bowling lifted Reed again. It was always going to the wire and an inspired death bowling over from Owen Hughes (4-0-2-18) secured the win for Reed by just 4 runs. Best of the rest was Reece 4-1-1-12.

On an unsettled cold evening Reed went into bat with rainy clouds looming. They made a slow start and lost 4 wickets between 6th and 9th over. But opening batsman Reece Fitzgerald and No 6 Freddie Stuart made a fine stand between them taking the final total to 103 for 4 both not out 45 and 18 respectively. There was little choose from Mildenhalls 6 bowlers they all bowled tightly Clark, Haywood and Kingdom sharing 3 wickets the 4th to a run out.Reed still felt they were in with a chance especially when opening bat Palmer was caught by Sam Rice off of Freddie Stuarts bowling in the 3rd over. However, the sibling partnership of M and J Allen proved too much for the Reed bowlers. They just could not find a ways past these two accomplished batsman. J Allen finally retired not out 51 leaving his brother and no 4 bat to mop up the innings in the 14th over finishing 106 for 1. M Allen finished on 32. Runs were spread evenly between the Reed bowlers. Considering the difficult wet conditions Reeds fielding was commendable

Linton won the toss and chose to field. Reed batted positively, despite loosing the early wicket of Jack Caine, 13 runs of just 8 balls in the 2nd over. By the 8th over with a partnership of 26 from Dean Chappell and Reece Fitzgerald Reed were on 51 runs, putting them on target for over 120. Chappell went in the middle of the 8th over and the 9th over saw the loss of two quick wickets opener Reece Fitzgerald (16) and Charlie Dobson (0), a double wicket maiden for bowler M Organ. From then the run rate slowed, Organ struck again in the 11th over bowling Ben Moody (3). A Bowie took another brace in 13th over. By the 18th Reed had tumbled to 87 all out. Connor Poulton (10) and Owen Hughes (11) the only other batsman to make it into double figures.The Reed bowlers had a job to do to defend such a low score and Linton were obviously feeling confident. Opening bowlers Jack Caine and Freddie Stuart stepped up to the mark. By the 4th over they struck with the first wicket of J North (5) bowled Stuart. With only 14 runs on the board in the 5th over the second opener A Foulds went down caught behind by Connor Poulton off the bowling of Reece Fitzgerald. Sam Rice debut of the season saw a wicket in his first over and only one run off the second. Good captaincy saw Rice bowl out his four overs gaining a second wicket for only 17 runs. After a day of showers Haverhill won the toss and took the gamble to bat first on a wicket with little bounce. The opening batsman were finding runs hard to come by and 3 per over seemed the order of they day. Like-wise Reeds bowlers did not look like taking wickets. First blood went to Reed in the 8th over when Reece Fitzgerald took a great catch at cover off of Freddie Stuart’s bowling. Haverhill Captain J Ruthven went for 15 runs. However, this seemed to be the turning point for Haverhill. W Bailey came in and took the ball by the horns. For the rest of the innings Bailey made the runs contribution, with 10 4’s he finished not out on 62. S Street’s wicket fell in the 18th over for 16. Haverhill finished on 113 for 3. Best of the Reed bowlers, Freddie Stuart 4-1-1-14, Reece Fitzgerald 4-0-0-15 and Jack Caine 4-0-1-26.The wicket had been unpredictable but Reed were confident they could reach the score. Like Haverhill Reed also struggled to find runs. At the halfway stage they were on a par with Haverhill but 2 wickets down, Jack Caine and Connor Poulton both going cheaply with 4 and 3 runs respectively. After that, Reed did not have the hard hitting power that Haverhill produced and just could not find those boundary balls. A last ditched attempt in the final over’s proved fruitless and Reed fell 17 runs short on 97 runs. Reece Fitzgerald top scored with 34 not out and Ben Moody was second top with 15 not out. Best of the 10 bowlers used by Haverhill had to be T Baker 2-2-0-0.

At the Fitzwilliam College ground Reed won the toss and chose to bat first against the premiership side of Granta. It was clear they were a well honed side and the Reed batsman faced some fast pace bowling. Even so they stood tall with Reece Fitzgerald (c) and Jack Caine making an opening partnership of 15 before Jack was caught on 8 runs off of Bedford. Owen Hughes came in and also faced up the intimidating bowling, then the wicket of the captain fell to a catch off the bowling of Mann. Owen and Connor Poulton managed to stick it out until the 11th over with a partnership of 20 Connor finding the boundary and having to duck a mean bouncer. He saw the wickets of Owen and Jack Childs go in the 11th over and then succumbed himself in the 12th over bowled by Ho for 15. After loosing Sam Rice for no score in the 15th over, Owen Church came into partner Freddie Stuart for his debut of the season. Owen made startling well needed cameo over the final 5 over’s, finding the boundary 5 times Owen took Reed to a final total of 80 with an unbeaten score of 22, Freddie finished 6 not out.Reed felt they had done their best and were still confident that they could defend the small total. Granta’s opening batsman picked off the runs with ease and by the 7th over had got to 50. It was nip and tuck as to which batsman would retire first, Cox got to 32 in the 10th over, Granta only needed 7 to win. Freddie Stuart took the next batsman’s bails for no score. The last match of the season and still the weather was threatening. Reed won the toss and put Hardwick into bat. Hardwick started steadily, but were not testing the Reed bowling attack. Reece Fitzgerald struck first in 7th over bowing opening batsman A Wilson for 7. Then again in the 9th over T Mantel (12) and D Eastgate (2) could not keep the ball out. The next partnership of 14 runs was cut short by Owen Hughes who finished his first over 3 wickets for 5 runs. With six wickets down Captain L Maude top scored with 21 before he fell foul of Reeds 9th bowler of the innings Jack Cain. Owen Church bowler no 10 also took a wicket in his single over. Hardwick finished on 89 for 8.Not a single dot ball in the first over of Reeds innings meant 14 runs off the opening bowler A Abdullah. 9 year old J Purse came on to slow the run rate and take the wicket of Reece Fitzgerald caught at square leg. Jack Childs came in and took a 4 off Purse but then played across the line in the next over lbw to Abdullah. The loss of two quick wickets did not shake the Reed side. Connor Poulton and Jack Caine put on 51 before Caine (16) was bowled in the 10th over. Connor and Freddie Stuart took the side home by the 13th over for a 7 wicket victory, 41 and 11 not out their respective scores.

Reed won the toss and chose to Field. Foxton started their innings minus their Captain and usual opening batsman T Powell. After a magnificent direct hit from Freddie Stuart put out Foxton’ s opening bat J Townsend in the 2nd over Reed commenced taking the Foxton side apart. By the 4th over they were 4 wickets down, C McCormick put on 14 runs only to be bowled by Reece Fitzgerald in the 7th over. Powell finally came in no 9 but it was too late the last two batsman could not stay with him and Reed finished the job in the 15th over, Foxton ended on 56 all out. Freddie Stuart and Owen Hughes both took two wickets and were both responsible for two of the 4 run outs, Connor Poulton and Reece Fitzgerald taking the other two. Jack Caine took two catches one of which was a magnificent diving catch off of Hughes bowling.Reed could not be complacent in their reply, although they did take the opportunity to switch the batting order about. Reece Fitzgerald and Freddie Stuart opened but neither made it past the 3rd over, both bowled by the late arriving T Powell. Jack Childs was moved up the order batting 3 and showed he was up to the task; after the loss of one more wicket Childs went on to partner with Zac Conley (12) and Jack Caine. Childs (20 not out) and Caine (8 not out) took the Reed side to a 7 wicket victory in the 11th over. T Powell took all of the Reed wickets conceding 13 runs.
