Reed hosted Woodcutters in 40/40 friendly at the Green, Captain Peter Baker won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Although they soon picked up their first wicket the decision to field first soon looked like a bad one as opener Isaacs (72), Devine (31), Berndes (48) and Szemiako (49) all took the Reed bowlers on and later, with the added annoyance of Connonly hitting 23 in the lower order, the Reed side were looking at a target of 263. The wickets were spread amongst the bowlers but Jack Tidey with figures of 8-0-18-2 stood out.In reply Reed had many good batting performances notably from Tom Greaves (22), Mitchell Cooper (32), Jack Tidey (33*) as well as George Greaves top scoing with 46 and who once again fell just short of a half century. Despite this Reed were unable to chase down the high total thanks in part to the bowling of Clifton (8-1-24-3). Reed lost by 76 rus as they were all out for 187 runs.

Fensome (52), Gadsby (79), Cole (22) and Gillett (22*) led the way for Waresley as they posted 222 for 8 in their 45 overs in a friendly at Reed at the Green towards the end of the season.In reply Reed provided their own impressive performances notably by Fergus Martin (35), Tom Greaves (27), John Kershaw (19) and Mike Robertson (25) plus 11 by Will Heslam who batted at number 10. But the bowling of Cole (7-0-38-7) was too much for Reed who ended on 148 all out , losing by 74 runs.

Reed Sunday Seconds hosted Thorley at the Green for a 40-over friendly which had an exciting climax. Reed won the toss and put the visitors into bat.Rooney (43) and Woolman (36) stood out for the Thorley batting order as they top scored in the total of 161 for 9 from their 40 overs. Bowlers George Greaves (8-0-24-4) and Keiran (KK) Ward (6-2-13-3) performed impressively with the ball and were supported well in the field.In reply K.K. Ward (14) and Peter Baker (34) got Reed going with some fine hitting. Other good batting performances by Greaves (23) and Kallum (KL) Ward (14) added to the total along with top scorer and ever improving Mitchell Cooper weighing in with 39. The victory was left to a final battle with Sean Tidey (8*) and Ollie Smith (2*) getting Reed home with one ball spare.

A Development League game against Sawbridgeworth saw some impressive batting performances by Reed’s up-and-coming stars. Batting first, Reed carried on after an early loss, with George Greaves (22), Matt Austin (26) and a hard hitting knock from Tom Greaves (46) including 8 fours and a 6, gave Reed a strong platform to reach a large total. ‘Bunker’ Hazzard (26*) also asssited as Reed closed on 193 for 9.However, the Reed bowlers lacked penetration and had trouble taking wickets when they mattered. Julien Fynn took 2 for 51 and Fergus Martin 2 for 22, but Sawbridgeworth made their way steadily to 194 for 6 and a win by 4 wickets.

In the Development XI match against Potter Bar, the hosts batted first and reached an impressive total of 212 for 9, Rowlands (82) top scored supported by Taylor (21) who with Titmuss (33) put Potters Bar in a strong position by the close of their innings. Jack Tidey (8-1-33-3) and Will Heslam (8-0-51-3) werethe pick of the bowlers.In reply, there were useful batting performances from Darren Radford (22), Julien Fynn (36*) and top scorer John Kershaw (51 retired not out) with an additional low order contribution by Heslam (16). Overall there was plenty to demonstrate Reed’s potential but on this occasion, Reed fell 34 runs short with 8 wickets down.

The Sunday second eleven hosted Offley and Storsley at Weston in a North Herts League Division one match. Many first team regulars were either playing or supporting those playing at Reed in the Village Cup game so the seconds had to do with a younger less experienced team.Offley and Storsley batted first and succeeded in keeping out the Reed bowling talent.  Both Bexfield (74) and Brodie (63) went passed the fifty mark supported by Keeley (34), Bridgland (35) and Barker (24*) as the visitors posted 260 for 7 off their 40 overs.  Pick of the bowlers were Neil Haslam (8-0-39-3) and Jack Tidey (8-0-60-2)Reeds chase started well with Ed Blisset (60) and Fergus Martin (33) making a partnership of 93 for the first wicket.  Tom Greaves yet again top scored with 88 (including 10x4 and 3x6).  However, Reed found themselves 16 short of the 260 off their full 40 overs 8 wickets down.  The need for runs led to some poor calling as four men were done for run out.  Brodie was one of the few bowlers to pick up a wicket finishing on 2-0-11-2.The gutsy performance from Reed was only hindered by a good fielding performance by the opposition.      

The conference friendly with Nazeing Common II ended with a Reed victory but several hurdels had to be overcome.  Firstly the matter of the weather which was forecast for less than cheery conditions.  Also the lack of a full eleven upset the usual pre-match preperations of captain Peter Baker, who after ringin around eventualy went out to the suprisingly firm table for the toss, which he won.Electing to bat seemed a good choice as openers Tom Greaves (53) and George Garrot (69) flew out of the blocks.  Greaves with some hard hitting attacked the bowling talent and by the fall of the first wicket in the tenth over Reed were already on 68.  Garrot now joined Marcus J.E. Baker (12) could not continue in the same fashion but never the less kept a good run rate going, roatating the strike and knotching up some nice boundaries.  With the score on 102 from 18 Baker tried to smack a straight one and was sent back to the pavilion.  But this only allowed Mitchell Cooper to come the crease, supporting Garrot to his half century he then took charge after Garrots dismisal. Garrot was bowled by Sean Tidey (5-0-29-1) on loan to Nazeing.  Cooper (73*) batted beyond his years in a fine performance supported by Fergus Martin (21*).  Reeds forty overs done, the posting of 259 for 3 seemed a tall order for the Nazeing side.Jack Tidey (6-1-21-2) took the first wickets of the innings with two consecutive balls.  Other opener Julien Fynn (7-1-23-1) took the third wicket with the Nazeing score on a shaky 23.  But Waters (31) and J. Grewal (69*) showed impressive resistance adding 81 for the next wicket, within this period though the [...]

Reeds development side hosted Knebworth at The Green in what would turn out to be an entertaining game of cricket.Batting first, Reeds promising opening partnership of Tom Greaves (15) and captain Fergus Martin (13) ended when Martin was controversially given LBW with the score on 32.  Reed continued adding runs nicely, R. Barlow (13) and Michael Naeem (16) keeping the score board ticking over.  But with these runs came wickets falling at steady intervals until the sixth wicket partnership of George Greaves (41*) and Mitchell Cooper (19) calmed the waters.  Playing well the two were sensible in keeping their wickets whilst adding runs.  Cooper was eventually caught trying to up the score but Greaves continued to the end playing a good game.  Reeds final total off their forty overs was 155 for 8.In reply Knebworth did well in getting a good start, openers Patel (19) and Digweed (22) watching the pace of Jack Tidy (7.1-1-30-1) M. Cooper (8-2-22-0).  Having removed the two openers Reed put pressure on the Knebworth batsmen and bowlers Julian Fynn (7-1-13-2), F. Martin (6-0-25-2) and Keiran Ward (5-0-27-1) took wickets, but Thorne (42*) kept his side on track to leave them victors with 3 wickets and 1.5 overs to spare.

Julian Fynn struck in the first over of this friendly played at Reed on Sunday and further wickets fell steadily as Guilden Morden reached 157 for 7 in 40 overs. Neil Haslam’s 2 for 13 were the best bowling figures whilst Fynn took 2 for 20, Chris West 2 for 25 and Jack Tidey 1 for 20. Highest scorers for the visitors were Dulby, 29, Belson, 27, and Newland, 26.Guilden were able to boast having Reed’s First XI bowlers in their ranks as both Graham Wilson and Peter Tidey, (each resident in the Mordens), opened their attack. After early wickets, Reed were bolstered by Marcus Baker hitting  31 and Keiran Ward, 14. More wickets tumbled but some good shots were played by Julian Fynn, 38, and Jack Tidey , 31, as they then put on 63 for Reed’s 7th wicket. Once these had departed, Guilden soon wrapped up the innings and Reed were all out for 142 leaving Guilden victors by 15 runs. Wilson, 3 for 16, Mills, 3 for 37 and Coverdale, 2 for 23 were the main strikers.

On Sunday Reeds transition side played against Knebworth Park transition side at Knebworth Park with Keiran Ward as captain and won the toss disided to field because we had a strong bowling attack of M Cooper fast bowling (1-47) and N Haslem (0-30) opening the bowling. Then J Bloor with his attacking spin bowling making it hard for the batsmen to play it wasn't long untill the batsmen missed and T Greaves quick of the mark to get the stumping. Then the wickets started to fall with J Bloor finishing on (1-36) O Smith with his 1st game of the season finishing on (2-25) also strong bowling from M Giblin (0-20) and K.K Ward (0-29). Knebworth park finishing on 219 4 of 40 overs. Reed got off to a good opening start with P Baker and T Greaves untill T. Greaves was giving out for LBW on 19 and P Baker a few overs later given out LBW for 19. J Bloor come into bat with a strong start hitting the ball about for a quick 12. Then M Cooper coming in to bat getting of the mark quickly with a firery 46 with  10 4's but getting caught on the shot he hoped to get 50 with. K.K ward (not out) came in and made up for his bowling smahing 4 4's and a 2 in 8 balls hoping to raise some team spirit. Reed were all out for 148. Even though we lost it was a good game of cricket and kept us all on our toes and would be a good game to play again.
