Saturday SHPCL:
The 1st XI came close to victory away at Welwyn Garden City when chasing 227 all out; Reed ended on 220 for 9. Toby Fynn and Rob Lankester had taken 3 wickets each but Reed’s star batsman was Will Heslam who was 9th man out after scoring 111.

At The Green, Southgate Adelaide could not contend with Rupert Martin who returned 5 for 28 as their innings petered all out for 87, some 143 below Reed’s Second XI’s total of 230 for 7. Chris Jackson was again the host’s mainstay by scoring 81.

Once more at the Freman Oval, Reed 3rds notched-up in excess of 190 and this time were on the winning side. George Garrott scored 70, Scott Nash 40 and Under 15, Charlie Waters, 23, closing on 192 for 8. But the bowling honours went to young Will Archer, the fourteen-year-old claiming a superb 5 for 18 as Letchworth Garden City were bowled out for 98.
