With 65 overs in which to overhaul their target, Reed lost early wickets until MJE Baker (23) and PG Baker (27) started the fightback, but it was Matt Bowles (40 not out) who resolutely battled it out as Reed ended 108 runs short.

4th XI – Tewin scored 221 losing just 2 wickets (both to Martin Johnson), before Reed batted-out for the draw at 147 for 8. Bill Mansfield top-scored with 49 and Paul Garrott also reached forty.

Sunday:
The much postponed Herts 20/20 match against Letchworth Garden City has been conceded because of fixture clash / congestion. Reed will be unable to qualify for the Quarter Finals this year.

The Sunday (Friendly) XI’s match against Guilden Morden has been cancelled as G-M failed to raise a side.

National Village Cup – Sunday 1st XI, Home versus Findon (West Sussex).
3 wickets each for Mitchell Cooper and Karl Ward accounted for Findon being restricted to 142 for 7 in their 40-over innings. Reed made it home with 3 wickets intact after Will Heslam, 20, Chris Jackson, 20, Rob Lankester, 26, and Stuart Smith, 26 not out, made sure of a place in the 6th Round.

Expect match reports to follow in due course.
