Reed IV XI travelled to North Mymms to play their second friendly of the season. The North Mymms side opted to bowl, opening with Knight (7-1-24-0). Reed batsmen M. Baker (18) and O. Benham (21) got Reed off to a steady start, taking 45 runs off the first 14 overs. Baker and Benham both fell in successive overs to bring R Barlow (61) and M Robertson (52) to the crease. Robertson quickly found the boundary reaching his 50 in 26 balls before being caught off the bowling of Cook (3-0-2-29) D. Radford (13) then added to the total before also falling to Cook. K. L. Ward (55) was brought to the crease and began an elegant innings, standing by Barlow for his half century and then continuing on to his own. Reed declared on 278 for 5 off 38 overs.
In reply, North Mymms lost Tibbetts to a blinding catch by Benham off the tidy bowling of A. West (4-3-1-1), followed by Wiggins (0) by another good catch from O. Benham off the bowling of W. Kirby (4-0-7-1). This Brought Knight (28) to the crease who proceeded to play a measured innings. Reeds second pair of bowlers tightened the screws with D.Hill (6-1-13-0) and K.L. Ward (5-3-4-1) restricting the North Mymms runs, with Ward removing the opener Stiffen. M. Robertson (5.2-0-10-6) then proceeded to topple North Mymms supported by the bowling of J. Hooper (4-0-9-0) and Barlow (1-0-1-0). Leaving North Mymms all out for just 54.
