Reed’s Sunday Second XI had a disappointing match against Aldenham towards the end of the season in a friendly, timed match. Having lost the toss Reed batted first and the quick bowling of Bala (11-3-16-6) soon had the Reed batsmen in trouble on a dubiously bouncing, mossy pitch. Tearing through the order it was only opener Mitchell Cooper (19) who seemed able to fend off the Aldenham bowling talent. However, the score of 61 for 9 was transformed into a final total of 116 thanks to Jack Tidey (37*) and Jason Pallet (17).

The Reed bowling talent seemed determined to defend this small total, both Julien Fynn (7-3-6-2) and Cooper (6-0-31-2) took two wickets each as Aldenham struggled to make runs. Also taking scalps were Tidey (7.1-2-19.1) and Pallet (6-0-25-1) supported well by wicket keeper Marcus J.E. Baker who took three fine catches in his part in a good team fielding performance. However, the small total was too low to defend in the end as Aldenham made 120 for 6.
