Reed Sunday team played host to Much Hadham who won the toss and elected to bat first. On a flat wicket they got off to a steady start but never cut loose as Jim Allsopp 12-3-22-2 and Neil Haslam 10 overs for 28 kept things tight. Allsopp being particularly impressive bowling straight and fast in his long opening spell down the hill. Support bowlers Tufton, Heslam and first team paceman Clarke each took wickets as Much Hadham closed their innings on 149-8 much owed to a good fifty by their number 5 batsman Jarret.

In reply Reed made a reasonable start with Clarke and Blissett reaching double figures. However, neither went on and Reed lost two more wickets to be 42-4. However this brought Heslam to the crease who played a captains innings scoring 60 in a stand of 96 with Roger Bowcock to all but see Reed home. The remaining few runs were knocked off and reed celebrated a 5 wicket victory with 15 overs to spare.
