Reed 3rd XI crush division leaders
Reed III's travelled to Dame Alice Owens School to face league leaders Potters Bar, on a day when the weather was ever threatening. After winning the toss the Potters Bar Skipper chose to bat, with openers Deshan (12) and Rohan (4) looking to make quick runs, however the precision bowling of Woodcock and Graves (6-1-18-2) resulted in both batsmen being trapped LBW. Lewis (0) and Taylor (0) quickly had their stumps rattled by the pacey bowling attack. Tiron looked to make a stand but the wickets continued to fall, as confusion at the crease resulted in Harries (0) being run out. Tiron (7) soon after was caught by Robertson in the covers to give Woodcock (11-3-20-3) his third wicket. Robertson (5-3-5-2) bowled a short spell dismissing Franklin (3) and Duke (0), however a stand by Taylor and Silvey slowed the collapse of the Potters bar line up. It was the bamboozling spin of Pallet (3-1-7-1) that broke the partnership trapping Silvey (8) LBW. The innings was closed with Morss (4.3-1-14-1) taking the wicket of Barnes (1), leaving an undefeated Taylor (20) at the crease, and Potters Bar with a total of 65. Reed, with the weather looking to take a turn for the worse decided to follow on, opening with Curtis and Rob Willoughby who scored freely from the start. Youngster Duke (4-0-31-0) was getting the ball to shape nicely, but it was Barnes (5-0-24-1) who managed to get the breakthrough, clean bowling Willoughby (15), however the damage had been done with Khambhat (7*) and Curtis (38*) knocking off the runs in just 10.5 overs.
