Thriplow and Whittlesford

Then on Friday the 21 June Reed Under 11's travelled to Wittlesford to face (Cambridge U11 division F) league leaders Thriplow.Reed's captain Freddie Ancliff won the toss and chose to bat.  Thriplow made an excellent start with the best bowling Reed have experienced this year in keeping Reed to 3 wickets for 11 runs after the first 4 pairs. The last pair of Harrison Caldicott-Stevens and Michael Catt saved Reeds innings with Michael Catt scoring 15 runs off 11 balls to leave Reed with a net score of 3 for 231.Thriplow made an excellent start to their innings with their opening 3 pairs making 30 runs for a cost of only 1 wicket. Then the Reed bowlers found their form against the forth pair with Freddie Ancliff (2-7) leading by example and setting the standard for Richard Stuart (1-3), Cormac Hosie (1-4) and Michael Catt (1-14).There was a tense finish to the game with Thriplow needing 4 off the last 3 balls but excellent fielding by Reed kept out the home team with Thriplow finishing their innings with 5 for 228, and a win for Reed. A great week which leaves Reed topping the league with two games to play.

Royston

The week started with Reed Under 11s travelling to Therfield on Monday 17 June to face Royston. Reed were sent in to bat first and with every pair of Reed batters putting an average of net 12 runs on the scoresheet saw Reed finish their innings at 5 for 265.Reed's fielding was tight throughout the Royston innings and through the efforts of the bowlers Cormac Hosie (3-3), Liam Gurney (2-6), Will King (1-2), Brady Henaghan (1-3), Kieran Mckinna (1-4) and Stephen Bishop (1-11) managed to keep Royston to under the 200 starting level to finish their innings at 9 for 198 and a well deserved win for Reed Under 11's.
