10 man Reed 4 entertained Watford Town 4 for what would be a rain affected draw. However, significantly there were four adult son combinations; Willoughby, Garrott, Rice, and Lalli. Watford won the toss and choose to bat. Without many options skipper Willoughby opened with George Garrott and spinner Sam Rice. Both bowled fantastically well, not giving away anything cheaply. They were also supported by fine fielding. The first four wickets were catches two for Chris West at keeper and one each for George Willoughby. The wickets being shared equally by George and Sam.Change bowler Willoughby (1-53) was not quite as economic but did induce a run out thanks to Paul Garrott. He then picked up the vital wicket of the Watford skipper, again thanks to Paul but this time with a catch down low. Mandeep Lalli (0-27) bowled efficiently and was unlucky not to get a wicket. George (3-42) and Sam (4-73) then returned to finish the innings, thanks to another catch by Willoughby a run out and a great and caught and bowled by Sam. Watford finished on 212 off 41.2.In reply Reed immediately lost the overs they gained from bowling out Watford early through a rain delay. In the end Reed had 34 overs to try to win the game. Openers Baker and Paul started cautiously as the pitch that was a road before rain became more awkward after being freshened up by the rain. Baker fell early for 4.
