Saturday:
1sts: No trouble for the Wharton bros as Ed takes a “4-fer” and Richard scores 57 not out in overhauling Langleybury’s 98 as Reed win by 9 wickets. Toby Fynn also took 4 wickets. Reed Is are now in 2nd place in the Championship Division.
2nds: Meanwhile at home, Langleybury IIs scored 98 all out, (4 wickets for Ian Osbourne), but Reed II managed only 71 in reply, (top-scorer being Richard Johnson with 28), and slipped down to 3rd place.
3rds: A welcome win put Reed IIIs in 6th position as Mike Robertson led the way with the bat. He scored 44 not out as Reed won by 6 wickets chasing Harpenden’s 130. Julien Fynn and Ian Roberts had taken 3 wickets each.
4ths: Another victory kept the the Fourths in 2nd position. Old Owens scored 171 all-out with Jonny Adams the major wicket-taker claiming 4. Reed’s runs came from Tom Nussey, 52 not out, and forties by Bill Mansfield and Peter Baker as Reed reached the target with 7 wickets and 12 overs in-hand.
Sunday:
Lankester Leads from the front, 127 not out in 3 wicket win.
