Reed won by 113 runs Reed won the toss and elected to bat. It was a sunny and warm evening and Josh Poulton and Cemal Ramadan opened the batting. By the 3rd over the Ashewll bowlers had gone for 30 runs including 4 boundaries. Unfortunately Cemal Ramadan lost his wicket in the 5th over for just 9 runs, but a respectable partnership of 41. Rhodri Hughes then came the the crease. With Josh Poulton in top form Hughes(14) stuck with him till the 11th over with a partnership of 32.
Jesse Chappell(15) then followed with an impressive 58 partnership, Poulton still taking the bowlers on with well placed boundary shots. A fitting end to the innings Connor Poulton partnered his brother Josh to his debut century 103 not out. Connor also not out on 20. Final score to Reed a season best of 194 runs for 3 wickets.
Ashwell had a mountain to climb, opening batsman Michael Giani was a handy bat and was making good boundaries, however, Ashwell lost 3 early wickets, two to Reece Fitzgerald (4-1-14-2) and a run out saw the 3 batsman go with no score. Giani (15) made it to the 9th over partnered by Tim Greenbank before he ran himself out. With the score at 49 and an over rate of 13, it did not look a getable target for Ashwell. Greenbank however put in a sturdy 30 not out performance in order for Ashwell to bat out the overs with just the loss of one more wicket. Final total for Ashwell 81 for 5. All six Reed bowlers did well, best of though, had to be Rhodri Hughes 4 overs for just 10 runs.
