Reed’s young Sunday side elected to bat first in this quarter final of the Herts and Beds region tie in the National Village Cup. Reed got off to a sound start with Simon Jackson (10) and Paul Watts (46) putting on 35 for the first wicket. Jackson departed and Ed Blissett soon followed for 3. Watts and richard Robertson (28) added a further sixty run, but the scoring was never quick enough. Reed only reached 158 for 6 off their 40 overs. That was helped by a quick 27 by Robert Willoughby.
Biddenham’s batting, however, was far too good for the Reed bowlers as they proceeded to knock the runs off in 28 overs for the loss of only one wicket with Fone scoring 73 and Richardson 55, both undefeated. |
