The hosts are entering Division 11 of the Saracens League next year, but batting first they struggled to come to terms with Reed’s young attack. Excellent spells from Chris West (3 – 26), Marcus Baker (2 – 19) and skipper Kieran Ward (3 – 13) kept Pirton’s batsmen in check with the home side accumulating 163 in 42 overs.

However this proved to be well short of the runs needed to stretch Reed who reached their target without losing a wicket, in just 29 overs. Both openers made half centuries with 15 year old Tom Greaves scoring an elegant 53 and 17 year old Kieran Ward a hard hitting 83. On this showing Division 12 should hold no fears for this youthful team next season.
